The Uttermost Company
About The Uttermost Company
History

The Uttermost Company was founded in 1975 by Bob and Belle Cooper and is still 100% family owned today. The business has grown to include approximately 300 employees working in our Rocky Mount, Virginia factory of 386,000 square feet. We also have almost 200,000 square feet of warehouse space a few miles from our main factory, two overseas factories, and a sales force of 120 representatives. Uttermost is proud to support most of the top retailers in the U.S. and Canada, as well as many reputable retailers in Europe, Australia, Mexico, and beyond.

The name Uttermost is taken from Acts 1:8, and expresses both our personal beliefs and the company marketing plan to spread the gospel and to sell our products "to the uttermost parts of the earth". Uttermost is now the largest manufacturer of framed mirrors in the United States, and one of the largest manufacturers of lamps, wall art, and clocks.

The growth of Uttermost is primarily due to our commitment to three things–superior service to retailers, maximizing the value of the products we make, and treating our employees and sales representatives as partners in business. This commitment stems from our stated mission and culture.

Mission

Our mission is simple... to make great home accessories at a reasonable price. This has been our guiding light from the day we started twenty eight years ago.

Culture

The Uttermost culture is founded on the concept of partners in business. From the person in our plant running a mitre saw to the retailer who selects and merchandises that perfect mirror, we’re all dependent on each other. Our outlook is one of mutual respect for all of our partners in business.
